Savanna Goats: GOATS BUILT FOR
AFRICA'S DRYLANDS
WE RAISE PERCENTAGE SAVANNA GOAT CROSSES
At Kaumoni Goat Stud Kitui, we also breed Percentage Savanna goats, with a growing focus on introducing South African Savanna genetics into our herds. We use fullblood bucks to crossbreed with local Galla Goats and Somali Goats in our endeavour to increase meat quantity in the offsprings. We've seen impressive results — and we’re excited about the results. Importantly, Percentage Goats at our farm are graded and sold off per purity.
Today, we proudly manage a select herd of registered, DNA-certified Savanna goats. As part of our long-term strategy, we are gradually integrating Fullblood and Registered Savanna Does into our herd to strengthen our genetic base and enhance productivity.
our savanna enclosures
We source our breeding bucks from top breeders. All our bucks are Full Blood and Registered with the South African Stud Book or Kenya Stud Book.
While our farm primarily focuses on Kalahari Red goats, we also breed percentage Savanna kids using our robust commercial Savanna bucks to support our meat production goals.
We aim to produce kids that can adapt and produce high meat yield. To enable this we crossbreed Galla Goats with FullBlood Savanna or Kalahari Bucks.
Through Natural Synchronization we aim to produce Percentage Savanna and Kalahari Red Kids throughout the year.
